Japanese skips a lot of u's and i's. It's mostly phonetic, but not really. And then there's the language set (kanji) that isn't using ideograms and not phonemes.

But yeah basically instead of using prepositions and postpositions like english and such do (in, to, from, etc.), in finnish the word itself changes so it becomes different, and sometimes in ways which is kind of hard to learn :P
