Every time I'm planning to work on my project/s I always forgot to factor in how exhausted I'm going to be by the time I actually have time to work on it. my latest project is sortof a terraria/craft the world based game, started side-scrolling but now its top down. Not 100% sure of the direction I'm taking it in. But it is cell-based. Dig blocks, make tunnel, rooms... turn block from 'empty' cell into a room, like a decorative stone or whatever.

Right now each cell is an actor that takes damage for being digged, holds data on what type of cell it is, etc. But with each cell being an AActor, I'm thinking I'd end up running into memory issues/ hitting Uobject limit.... Wonder if theres a better way to do it

hmm... Well, there are few MP products. But they have cons too, it really depends on your goals.
In general, you feed your how to say, layer system of landscape and then let the tool handle rendering, physics, navmesh, etc.
Then you code interactions. In a sense it is easy, but as I said, not all features from your standard landscape are actually supported. Water is tricky thing for example.
