Oh, looking at screenshot, i just found out, that i messed up IO open mode parameter called "ate"

it should've been used to seekg, but i found other way of doing it and forgot to delete it 😄

it's hard to put together OGL and Vulkan, because OpenGL is more like state-machine, much of structures are not existing, like Vulkan's VkDevice or D3D's device, so when rendering with OpenGL i can ignore passing my abstracted Device, but for VK and D3D i must pass them

About 2 years later, he had another accident and his hand shattered again, but this time when they set it, it happened to set in a position that made his guitar playing easier. From that point he could play better, faster, more accurately at speed and his techniques changed so he could shred like a boss. Skip to 20 years later and this is how he plays. I don't know if this is the right place here. Could someone help me who already released a game on steam? I hope that I can get some insight on why the library hero and the library logo are not showing up for the game that I have not yet released for steam.
When I check my steam library and click on the game, it still shows no header and it uses the default text. Does it only update after I have released the game?
I used the right sizes for the pictures 1920 x 620 for Library Hero and 640 x 360 for Library Logo.

Welp, I got a bit of a wee problem

I was just playing skyrim for the first time on my still slightly new quest 2 vr headset and the whole machine hard crashed

after about 10 minutes of playing

I got a 1080ti and 32GB of ram

And played hundreds of hours of skyrim vr on it with a vive headset (from work)

I just flipped myself out. I was consuming coffee and creating some imaginary software, as you do, and I was thinking how cool it would be if I made an LOD system for hair strands/particles that generates it's own hair cards, perhaps optionally rigs it too, for optimisation purposes. So I start looking in more detail at the hair cards in UE, and saw this. mind blown

the funniest thing is there is a bug can happen with hair, when loading in and building the guides, where until it's fully loaded, it sits on the root bone of the skeletal mesh it's attached to. So it looks like a merkin 😄

I'm gonna play with this procedural hair this week I think. I'm just optimising/finishing up one that's in fair need of LOD for any kind of use I'd consider acceptable in game. Although you can run several grooms in full quality without touching them, but any kind of crowd system would kill it without LOD

no but there is the scaling issue

its not really an issue but how the point distribution handles density as a grid. So you might get 4-16 points in a grid space etc. So if you take the initial cube and add things, the values will be different to if you scaled the box to 2cm instead. Because the cube then takes up less space. So what Blender people did, and I did due to the tutorial I used, was to have a math->multiply node as an input to the geometry node. Then you change that on the modifier panel and it gets multipled. for eg. I used a 2cm cube to start. I had to have a multiply of 10,000 to make sense of any values going in to produce the geometry.

ah then I typed all that for nothing. I'd charge you anyway if you were a client 😄

@cursive crypt it's not. It's specifically setup for LOD systems. If you were to just use the highest LOD all the time it's in no way gonna be nice to performance. Probably best used for cutscenes. But there are lod systems right through the workflow from hair to mesh. A good metahuman setup will have things like particle hair -> hair cards -> hair mesh, same as your typical mesh lods. You can technically lod the animations too.

So on another topic, I'm merging a mesh to bake it's texture out and redo it's UVs. It's mostly working but there are things missing. I'm guessing Opacity masks. I've added them but it never renders it out. Anyone had any joy with this kind of thing?
