and since I'm noob, the cutting edge graphics made by people in Unreal made me question that if it is too much of an engine (and renders) for a low poly game with textures of 16x16 pixels
let me ask other thing, inside a modeller (Blender in my case) if I colour a cube, I need to set the texture size first. The default is 1024x1024 pixels, however in gIMP (for the main creature) I need only 3 colors, so I made a .png of 2x2. Since it is just basic colours, both are the same to load? I mean, the 1024 pixel texture will be heavier than the 2 pixel texture?
I set the interpolation for the closest in Blender and Unreal I set it too but it has another name, it is just to not get blurry the ink.
I don't know if that makes sense, I'm not a native speaker and a real baby on anything related to developing games.

what you described is more a pixel art game a la minecraft, than the lowpoly as is
