As someone who lives in both China and the United States, I would say that social media needs to controlled. I think China goes too far and bans sources of information that could be incredibly valuable to the education of the Chinese people.

Most of the time the people with money just have money because their parents had money and could set them up in a good position from the start.

I don't think things get better without a proper understanding of the 'constructs' inside of interactive dialogue and understanding the difference between a broken tool vs a broken implementation of a working tool.
But from a storytelling perspective, the very act of the player making a choice. The player having to stop, think for a split second, and then click on a choice. That has already changed the narrative experience of the game.
Now if the writer is just adding fluff to make the dialogue feel longer or the game is like Tell Tale games where it keeps straight up lieing to you and saying in words across the screen "Blah Blah Blah will remember this" as well as using it as your core marketing technique... Then that comes down to poor decisions in the creative direction of the game.
But it in no way, shape, or form makes the tool itself pointless.

I think one core communication error between game studios and the gamers is the expectation of 'This is my character'.
There are really 4 different levels of 'This is my character' and then the grey area in between those areas.

Create a Character - This is quite rare in any story type game as you get to choose basically everything about your character.

Predefined Role - This character has a role in the story already, a title of some sort, but you can choose gender, class, personality, looks, and all sorts of other stuff. But in the story you still must follow this predefined destiny.

Predefined Character - You are given a character that has a at least a majority of the following things... name, backstory, personality, look, skillset, job... but you get to guide this character to be slightly different and make slightly different choices within the binds of who that character is.

Linear Character - This is just like a character in a movie, the player has no part in shaping him or her.
I think if studios stopped trying to market Predefined Characters as create your own RPG character, then people would not be so disappointed in RPG type games.

Bioware was always transparent about that, and Mass Effect was successful.
Fallout 4 had a lot of negative reviews, however, because it used a 'Predefined Character' just like Mass Effect in a series that is accustom to 'Predefined Roles' and they still tried to market the game in such a way.
But it was still a great game, just certain people came in with the wrong expectations because of miscommunication between the marketing and the audience.

A game with a lot of choice can mean a lot of things, and there was certainly enough choices in Fallout 4 to fill up 5 games. But it comes down to where the choices are and what kind of choices the player is looking for.

Basically I got locked out of my own epic account as it says "account is inactive" and I can't login anymore. Originally, my email address got hacked and I couldn't get the password or do a reset anymore and I wanted to switch it over to my newer one as I wanted to verify it. I sent a ticket over to Epic asking if there was a way I could prove my ownership otherwise and a few minutes I got kicked out of my account with no way to access my old mail to see if there's an verification in it neither something to help me further.
