I have all my levels outside of persistent level folder so you can't see them in the world comp window, but they load dynamically without issue.

the problem with keeping them in that folder is they are soft loaded in a way. Not visible but come with the structure of the world comp you setup. I didn't want that as it meant unloading levels before I start. So I moved them outside of that scope and wrote a nice latent blueprint func as a plugin to account for it

@plucky pagoda its my favourite game of all time. I play it every league start for a couple of weeks at least. But if you were to jump into a league now, you would be so confused, unprepared and have to do so much googling it would put a lot of people off. I mean, it doesn't even have in-game trading. Its all on a website. Plus I use macros for getting item stats and prices. Another website for creating items to see what I need, another for builds. It's a mess for a new player.
thats even before you get to the skill tree and thinking of builds. Most people just take the meta build of the league and run with that, not understanding that it will be expensive as hell because everyone else uses it.
Plus it's hard as shit at times. It really pushes your builds in some scenarios. Its really easy to overstep your mark

it was a spoof game based around 80's/90's action movies, played in VR. A derivative of Time Crisis with more freedom of movement
in order to get around the locomotion, I had a warping system because your legs were destroyed (in a spoof Robocop scene). So you had this nano-tech that you used to move with. It would dissolve you and re-assemble you in the location you selected. Was looking forward to doing the niagara effect for it.
oh... and that scene in Robocop where he says "Lose the arm", I replaced it with a testicle, but you keep it. So when you see yourself in the mirror (ala the robocop remake), you had this one testicle hanging down and swinging around. LIke I said, it was stupid.

My game version of The Cube 2 is probably my best bet for a free development option. I don't need much artwork besides characters to start it off. YEah, with all the shit going on right now I'm letting my kids pretty much game and do crafts all day. STaying up late watching TV together, just keeping it chill. I ussually make them do 3 to 4 hours school and haven't really done any for most of April.
Bought like 100 things of playdough, a bunch of paints, bunch of different little glue together and paint wood crafts etc...

Almost every project I've worked on since moving to UE has been one that fights against the engine. It's pretty nice to experince how much easier it is when you try and make something with a more traditional third or first person character.

I was trying to write it when Fallout 4 was first released, and then was pushing to release it as early as possible after the mod tools were available, when the market was still hot.

The thing is, most games once you disable the radar and the way points are literally impossible to beat.

Because the game requires you to be in such and such exact location without putting in any environmental clues of directions in any form other than the Waypoint. The waypoint is generally the only clue you get to know where to go.
So just like fast travel, waypoints and radars are a bandage to a bigger problem.
They are giving you a fast way to make up for the lack of them giving you directions and clues.
Or giving you a fast way to skip the fact that the game has too much boring walking.

If the NPC said, "Go to main street, walk north past the post office, turn right at the donut store, take a left past the stop sign, and go to the yellow house."
And you as the player could look for the street sigh, see the post office, and see a clearly yellow house, then no Waypoints would be fine.

I played Eastshade, and it didn't have waypoints or radar or horse gps or anything. You could get around by signs and landmarks.

Later in the game you got a map, but it didn't even show you where you were currently at. You had to use your surroundings to figure out where on the map you were and how to get where you wanted to go.

I literally just downloaded an updated Megascans Bridge, and 10 minutes later had to update, because it updated for 4.25.

I think Megascans is now going to update the same time as Unreal. Before we had to wait a long time to get the plugin for the new versions.
