Ok, so I am using the Top Down template. I have changed the controls to configure with WASD, I have also incoperated Unreal's animator starter pack. So. I'm afraid if I use a new skeleton and animation I will have to remove the Unreal animator starter pack which allows my character to move with the point cursor in a less buggy manner than normal

I made an entirely dynamic animation system that blended between any animation you wanted. It gave my fighting game the fluidity of Killer Instinct's fighting system and you can literally load any anim for new moves etc

@zinc matrix I think you should probably do a basic course on animation with UE for that. If you are mixing animsets for different skeletons, you need to do some manual work to combine them, and it requires knowing what you are doing.
Bear in mind this, you don't need to use the UE skeleton. It's just there for easy retargeting and re-use of animations and to give some kind of parity for Marketplace animations. You can use any skeleton you want, you just need to know how to use it and how to do animation from scratch. Which isn't much to learn honestly. There are tricks and traps like anything but it's really straight forward and also transfers across apps.

I really like Linux but it's not currently a viable replacement of windows for game development .
But with a VM you can't accurately profile for one and you introduce a whole host of potential problems with tracking down errors. It's not really a great option. If you're running it in a VM you're still running windows anyway.
Yeah. I would too. I've been down that rabbit hole though and decided the time spent trying to get things working whenever some new app was needed wasn't worth the loss of time.
