@stiff crystal well for one, the glasses don't shut down to 0% opacity. They adjust pretty quickly too so mostly I don't even notice that they're dimmed until someone points it out.
They also don't adjust from any light, it has to be UV light so it pretty much only reacts to the sun. And since glass is usually a good UV filter they pretty much don't adjust while driving anyway.

@hazy delta prices are probably a bit high. But then as game devs, we buy models for more than that. In that respect, it would be actually awesome if you got to keep the FBX of the MTX we buy, so you can either a. use them in other compatible games, or b. use then in non-commercial artwork (such as renders for fan pages)

@fathom wadi not sure if I agree with that. differnt use cases and therefore different validation for prices. they make a model and sell it a bunch of times, so you get to look nice. In game dev you buy a model and use it for your games so you might make some money off it yourself, it's like an investment in your game and not just some vanity item.
I'd be happy if I could use a bought MTX more than once...

you usually pay more for models that are for commercial purposes. But there is no difference to me. MTX are just asset selling in a locked environment. I don't even see them as anything but extra-gaming peripherals for fashion victims. It would be nice if I could use them though.

it's a bit glam for my liking but I grew up in the 80's so I get nostalgia from it in a way. But Blade Runner was made in the 80's and felt grittier than any of it bar a few scenes
I guess there is a level of cyberpunk that is for the general audience, then there is the different variants for different sub-genres. Johnny Pneumonic is what I consider the mainstream style, but you can go as far as crazy things like Tetsuo and beyond. Even Neuromancer was quite heavy on the machine symbiosis factor and a good chunk of that is floating around as an electronic consciousness so to speak

its a very stylized version of it tbh. If you were around in the 80's, it wasn't that clean as its represented. People were poor, clothes were handed down to siblings or people down the street. demos can be bad for sales too, as they often show up the shit as well as the shine. Or make you realise the hype was real and you didn't really want to play it in the first place. Or the game is so shallow, that 2 hours covers everything.
You could argue that just gets rid of the bad releases but then it will also promote the first demo levels being the good ones, and the rest are post-sale so don't matter.

all the naming convention stuff could be handled better though. If you setup Vertex Groups that happen to co-incide with bone names, they get over-written by the bone vertex groups. Which means you end up with two sets of VGs that have different naming conventions. It seems silly.

also do note that even if your country had the treaty, that doesn't mean you wouldn't pay taxes for it, it just means tax isn't paid on US front

it is encouraging to read other developers too. I am from germany and do mostly from 3d modeling to vfx effects. I started almost 2 years ago and just worked on learning my tools befor thinking of creating a game. Right now i am in the process to create my first game.
