Im not into that syntax either, but the compiler complaining is one of the good things about it. It has more opportunity to give you errors before deployment. I remember wondering why they didn't choose Python as all the pros that Verse has, Python has also. The only pro which I don't see Python having is futureproofing. Often you are limited to the libs you use, the Python version and as we all know those change a lot. With Verse it should (in theory) be backwards compatible giving futureproofing a strong ground to stand on. Whether that happens in reality only time will tell.

We had a jam once when I was still a musician. I came up with a pumping bassline so we turned it into a hard rock techno track played with real instruments and no synth. We never expanded up on it though. I'd have loved to have gone down that route and become another Ozric Tentacles.

This is why I now know Blender. The 3dsmax transition to their Adobe style sub model was bad enough as you never own the software, but the fact they didn't even support 4K in their UI at that time, and I had a 4k monitor, meant I couldn't work effectively unless I changed desktop resolution and negated the point of 4K entirely.
I was very lucky though that it was the same time Blender 2.8 released, which improved over 4.7 a huge amount and the UI was cleaned up. It took about 3 days to fall in love with and despise 3dsmax. Even though there are tools like CAT-Rig which still beats Rigify by a long way. All I see now from 3dsmax is updates that add more booleans. Hardly worth the cost of not owning it.
