the old school ways were point and click or click and hold. However since consoles have been getting more ARPGs the WASD method has been seeing a lot more usage.
I played Path of Exile for 13 years before they added WASD controls. I can't seem to get used to it. Although I did one character purely with WASD just to try get my muscle memory to work with it. But I've been playing arpgs since Diablo 1 came out so I'm kinda stuck in my ways I guess.
I do see one problem with it however. When you design an ARPG character move set, if you are going to ensure the control system works for WASD you have to design it to. But that can make the skill you design feel like WASD is the only way to play it. For example, the Mercenary and Ranger in POE2 have some skills that you don't want to stop moving when you use it. Point and click kinda forces that but GGG made a good decision to add an inertia to movement. So you can still move when you point and click for as long as the inertia lasts for. Which means you can move, press skill whilst you are still inertially moving, then click to move and so on. It still doesn't feel as smooth as WASD but the fact they can make POE work on a controller/WASD is testament to their developer throught processes.

hey guys, question regarding the whole nvidia and windows 11 update... My laptop seems to be having this battery/blackscreen flickering issue, however I dont have those 2 windows updates. But it also says that those updates were to help fix these sort of issues too.. But it seems to be removed from windows update.
