One nvme gets 3 lanes, GPU gets 16 lanes, ram gets lanes I think? Anything else you plugin to the motherboard shares lanes with each other
Onboard sound chip also gets 4 lanes or so dedicated to it from the motherboards chiplet

But 4 lanes are dedicated to the mobo chiplet and CPU to communicate. Also, additional m.2 slots aside from M.2_1 use the onboard chiplets lanes. Ethernet port does take up almost 3. Might just be 1 or 2.

I think you CAN INSERT your own assets into a DX10 and DX11 game though.
So, without a fixed function pipeline (as that comment says), you might be able to add your own stuff to DX10-11 games, but not replace anything inside them.
