So, UE 5.7 resets the cloner mesh size after converting an earlier project.
If you see weird results, it's not a broken project. Just fix the mesh scale in the Mesh's properties, not the cloner itself.

I doubt I'll use it. I was reading the patch notes and thought the FastGeo was a general geometry rendering feature. Then, I saw the PCG part of it.
All these ini settings should be in a separate menu with toggles, honestly. It's a pain that you have to edit the file yourself and type stuff in.

which is a bit confusing cause the node that lets you assign the dispatcher to an existing event/function is paradoxically called 'create event', wherein if you want to create a new event you gotta type 'custom event', but either way, you can.
and I mean it also kinda makes sense cause a macro graph or a function graph only deals with one specific macro/function, unlike the event graph which can have multiple events, though obviously it can a bit messy cause function graphs have some restrictions that event graphs don't and some features that event graphs don't (like local variables, return values, etc), so, I mean, all the more reason to do things in c++ I think.

really? I have had bad experiences with AI code, but since CHatGPT4 it's been splendid.
A couple of weeks ago I wrote an A4 sized prompt to detail a set of functions I needed (they had complex math and 0^n algorithms so I can't write that quickly) and the solution ChatGPT gave worked perfectly. I expected at least 1 or 2 refactors of the prompt.
It's funny how we get a free pass to use AI as coders. But if you are an artist and use AI then some people will treat you like you just shat on a Caravaggio. Funny but also annoying. Art is the evolution of influence. AI isn't any different to me.

Still on windows 10 with the extended support since I'm putting off the potential system wipe required to change the format of my drives to what windows 11 requires. Surely that can't be it though, right? Windows 10 only stopped getting regular support last month. Hardware wise I have a 12th gen i9, 32GB DDR5, everything installed on an nvme m.2 ssd, and for graphics a somewhat dated Titan XP that's basically a 1080ti with more vram, but that wouldn't cause issues for the launcher.

The older GPU can cause problems, actually. Current drivers are being made to support 30xx and higher GPU models (there was a news article from NVidia about deprecated GPUs). So, anything involving web rendering with hardware support can be glitchy with older hardware.
That's not saying it won't work, but there'll be 'issues' of varying kinds.
That's also acceptable if it floats your boat. 😄

like causing the launcher to not respond? It was rendering normally, it just froze and needed killed through task manager. Then was being slow as shit to load up again like it always is for seemingly everyone with all the complaints I hear about it

It can happen. For example, even on my system, where EGS runs almost perfectly, there was a black screen ONCE.
It's not the hardware. It's the drivers.
If they don't make the drivers for the old stuff, they'll slowly be unable to process new functions.
Like I said, it will 'work', but you will have issues.
Don't ask me for details. I don't remember their change logs. I just read NVidia's posts and file it away under - don't use this anymore.
On Chrome, there's an easy workaround. Disable GPU acceleration.
I don't know if you can do that with EGS.

The main boss is tied to three totems and when you destroy each totem, the fey demon attached to each appears and you have to kill THEM too. Every time the boss loses 50% health, it sacrifices the totem and the same thing happens.
You can't dispel the boss's buffs either, because they are all totemic and thus, not affected by dipsel magic. woo hoo!

there are parts of UEs volumetrics which are really performant, particle lights are super fast and if you use enough volumetrics you can start to deprioritize background details since they will be blocked by foreground
