The engine is marketed as handling a lot of things for the user, the truth is, the engine is bloated. Thee is more than 2.5gb of crap loaded on init that shouldn't be on by default. It is there so any kind of project seem directly to be working - basically making it easy on novice user. World partition is set up wrong, default tick, etc.. but also the templates are HORRIBLE. Look for example at the first person template > there are 2 ticking skeletal mesh (one being empty) just to account for wrong root. It's like patching a bad practice with a second bad practice. The templates were complained about internally a LOT , but we were told it will be fixed. (it has been like that for years). This is just an example.

the docs are mainly wrong or outdated and usually work only in silo. The reason is that the people behind the tech do not have the time to write the doc. That doc is then spread as being the "truth" by YT videos, tutorials etc... and the doc/evangelist team unfortunately rarely work on actual project that is not a smaller in scale. They are not involved in the internal production, they don't work on Fortnite or Matrix demo etc... so they create their own example, with their understanding of the tech, usually really small in scale compared to a full game and focusing on 1 or 2 issues, and usually miss the mark. So while it works with that tiny single example, it is actually pretty bad practice in a real game. And while there is communication of sort between engineer and the doc team, it is minimal. Then these get again spread around via YT "expert"... spreading both bad practice and misleading information."

They get all these benchmarks that look crazy, they believe the hype, but in reality we have tech in the engine that is years ahead of it's time in terms of it's performance requirements. It's like when Crysis released and became the meme "But can it run Crysis?" because they applied techniques that would last rather than be a one generation filler.

Not been a fan of 30fps ever really. It always looked janky to me after playing 60fps fighting games. The wife went a decade not minding about 30fps on console until I got her a copy of Cyberpunk 2077 on her Xbox Series X. She said she couldn't tell the difference. Then it all changed when I had her switch between modes. Now we have an AI television that upscales to 60fps so everything looks smoother

I find it amusing that a 1080ti, albeit with less graphic features like raytracing and DLSS, can outperform a 5090 because I can't run it max settings anyway. I setting for mid-high in 1440p and I'm fine hitting 60fps

Funny I love gambling too (even made a professional slot system in UE) but I can't throw money at games that are designed to grab that cash. I do buy MTX once a year or so for Path of Exile as a way to support the development of the game, but they have a fair system for that

Yeah Curacao is one. It's the wild west of licensed gambling. You can get away with theft there. Malta has the most global licensing available (but it's also location based as each country tends to have it's own gambling commission). So you can't do a one-size-fits-all approach. It has to be modular in design to accomodate

I've done voices and for YT. For audio alone, Audacity is free and a nice go-to. These days, you can record stuff in Streamlabs or OBS and just separate the audio from the video track using any nice eidtor.
For music, you kind of require a production module (hardware) to plug the music instrument into and record the music without distortions.
Otherwise, the result is.... uh.... silly.
