I can see it from both angles - there are a lot of devs who don't listen to player feedback and are biased after playtesting their own game 1000 times and see everything as 'obvious', can't see things from the angle of new players etc

Yes we're seeing some more successes, but for success there's 1000 failures. The problem with indie is a tale as old as time. Indie development is inherently low budget. Getting eyes on something is either predominantly luck based, or inherently high budget. Indie can't pay to get eyes, and if they can't pay to get eyes they rely on organic marketing which is luck based. If no one sees a project, no matter how good it is, it fails.

Fortunately I've managed to find workarounds for most things I'd need from that ecosystem. DaVinci for video, Inkscape or Vectorpea for svg at a push, photopea for photo editing, krita for painting. The only one's I'm genuinely hurting about are Substance and Illustrator.
Oh and Acrobat pro, because damnit who decided pdf editing should be so damn hard

I switched from Zbrush entirely to Blender in last two years and Blender is now so relaxing.

The prtf is the whole reason I fell behind in school
Legally required to provide proper education. Denied that. Went an entire school years length of no school. Licensed Therapists are legally required to be there every day, only showed up maybe once a week for an hour. Pumped us full of sedative medications. None of the staff were properly trained for mental health. They thought everyone there was just violent. Staff did provoke kids just so they could restrain them in painful ways, one kid had to go to the hospital. The staff that did it just laughed. Made us stay outside in summer in the south, where it reaches 30-32c, refused to give water. Some kids got sent to the nurse for severe dehydration. One staff had sexual relations with older kids. Refused phone calls, refused visits, mentioned the education, barely was allowed to do therapy which was the whole point of the place.
