Gotta love people people that idealize living in a van lol. It’s called being homeless, and just because you don’t work a regular job doesn’t mean you won’t have a boss (your clients, if you can get any). Wage slaving is called having a job, and whether you’re working a regular one in a building or working remotely be it contract work or otherwise, it’s still a job, and you’re still stuck doing it because you require it in order to be able to live. Even if your house/van is paid for, you still need food, clothes, and working heating, electricity, internet and water etc.. Sure, you can get like a gym membership and shower there or w/e but that also costs some money, even if it’s less. And when your van breaks down, all the sudden you don’t have a home (and office to work from) for a few hours or days depending on severity

It sounds cool in theory but it’s not really sustainable, especially since us humans usually always end up wanting more from life, like a solid home and proper plumbing and all

i understand your concerns @brittle holly . Though if you think about it, living in a van is quite cool, you can wake up with awesome sun rises, next to the beach, or wherever you like. No need to stay stuck in a place forever. For other points you make its obviously not easy yeah, but for example you dont pay any of those bills you were saying, electricity is solar, the van is yours, so you dont pay rent. No dealing with flatmates or tyrannical landlords. if you have any issues in the place where u are, u can just move. gym membership for showering? not necessary, you can shower in your van, plenty of solutions. its actually closer to your natural living, to be mobile and free. some centuries ago mongols conquered half the world living in much worse conditions and eating without cooking, and living in tents, and hunting 🐴🏹. these vans would be a luxury for them. though good points, im not completely disagreeing with you just talking with you 🙂

I don't know how others does but here got a world manager that have rooms references, each room is an actor with references to container actors, each container actor have references to normal actors or any type plus ones that are mutable actors with states so it change the state so it changes the display like a material selection or whatever, and the other normal actors just show or hidde in state

so you need to ensure that each time you call a random function change something, could be random a pick 1 again and that not gonna work

Made lots of fun changes to Project Settings and fine-tuned my cloners.

Technically at this point I think my system its basically as the cloners one lol

Ditched SM5. Using SM6 only.
Buffed up the geometry and motion designer caches.
Changed out the default cloners to use sphere meshes (because I didn't know I could do that earlier).
Applied actual material designer materials for the first time to said spheres (thanks to Reza's tutorial).

Now, I am building and exporting my Motion Design sequencer to a movie, to see if my splash screen is finally done.

....and failed to save map changes.

Well, everything worked out. I fixed the save map error. It was because UE had conniptions with the staged build files.

The only problem is this weird blinking issue that's cropped up, but I can solve that later.

Interestingly, I didn't have that problem when I was using a directional light. I'll try reverting to one and see if that helps. But, whatever...

I think the crazy rants like this are cause of the time spent rather than the money, 2000 hours since launch averages to about 8 hrs daily, literally a full time job lol
