This doesnt make any sense tho, 12 episodes of anime only take 5 hours to watch, so 2 seasons should take 10. I'm up for 16-20 hours at a time and watch the moment I wake up till I sleep. So how is it possible that it's been 12 hours already and I'm only on the 9th episode of season 2.

21 episodes is only 8.4 hours. Where did 3.6 hours go.

some 'unrealisms' can really drive you made, spent some time making some editor tools that would let me create a bunch of sequences with a single click, like not very complicated animations but just, saving a lot of work, now I run into this issue where it turns out that if your camera is 'possesable' rather than 'spawnable' the movie-renderer just kinda ignores it? and when I google it it seems like everyone runs into this problem and there isn't a real solution other than switching to a spawnable camera, which I guess I'll have to do but it kinda changes a bunch of stuff about my implementation which I'll have to figure out now.

From a cursory google it seems people have run into this issue as far back as 2021, but the feature is still there, there's no warning that it doesn't work, no documentation makes it seem like it's up to you whichever option you choose, etc etc. annoying. I guess I'll have to sink a few more hours into this thing.

Cyberpunk is bad for it

summer cedar

Ah. I haven't noticed it there.
No signs in Avenum.

#

One of those games that dlss is sorta needed if you want ray tracing

summer cedar
#

There's a VERY helpful dot that shows you where to go.

#

With Cyberpunk, I use DLSS with High Quality.

#

And high sharpness.

#

So you don't get blurry artefacts.

mild gust
#

Nice

summer cedar
#

It MIGHT happen with lots of action on the screen, but then, I am not busy reading. πŸ˜„

#

Also, I think Aveum made a mistake in hiring film stars to play some of the characters.

#

Their budget was bloated and with the bugs, they received little revenue.

mild gust

Killing floor 3 beta with slow motion got a bit blurry too

Not really so thick either, I'm just afraid not to jump on it or something heavy to hit it.

proud jay

should be quite strong

#

where we live now is also ceramic tile and it's perfectly fine

#

it's pretty hard to break

they also make kitchen counter tops of it that are like less than a cm thick

cursive crypt

At some point we have also to select floor material, wood is nice, but very sensitive. This looks better in terms of robustness.

tulip orbit

Now much per sq.m.?

proud jay

these tiles are like 60 euros per sqm I think

#

but they're more expensive cause it's the bigger size

#

their more default tiles were closer to like 35 ish

cursive crypt
#

Where you are not going to heat?

#

This may go also in the living room too

proud jay
#

whole ground floor has floor heating, upstairs bathroom has floorheating and the bedrooms have ventilo convectors

cursive crypt
#

Interesting, why the convectors?

proud jay
#

cause we don't really want to heat the bedrooms most of the time

#

so it's mostly for like deep winter or hot days in summer

#

but they will be off most of the year

#

while with floor heating it's not ideal for the system to be turned off and on all the time, and it takes a few hours to adjust

cursive crypt
#

Ah, I see, but in theory you can several circles of the floor heating i.e. control per room

proud jay
#

of course

cursive crypt
#

I recall your weather is more soft

proud jay
#

yeah

cursive crypt
#

uh, what was the word... from the ocean, no big yearly differences

#

moderate... still interesting approach to cost cutting.

proud jay
#

well also just convenience really

#

like I said, we generally don't really heat bedrooms

#

so only for the more extreme days

#

then you can quickly turn it off or on as needed

#

while with floor heating it would take a couple of hours

cursive crypt
#

Oh, I see average, yearly temps between 3 and 18

#

Sounds kinda cool

proud jay
#

well yeah but we always have a few outlier weeks

#

like sometimes it's randomly 35 degrees in summer

#

and then 2 days later it's like 17 degrees raining all day

cursive crypt
#

Yeah, but ocean climate is ocean. The continental here is more harsh. I don't know how this should be handled for better, but we think to put floor heating everywhere.

proud jay

so my setting which has essentially a true post scarcity society, uses "production credits" as its currency
printers which can make anything from food, to cars, require time and resources. so jobs pay in those
credits allow the exchange of customized items for credits
some things, like food and basic clothing are provided at pretty much a free level for everyone. glemn can be turned into edible food by any at home molyfab. but home molyfabs will make essentially the exact same food every single time
but many want some variation. and proper food, instead of nutrient bars cost more resources and print time
and printed vegetables (or the extra expensive grown ones) and meat used to make chef cooked meals are more expensive

#

the molyfabs will perfectly replicate anything properly scanned into them. right down to the taste and texture

#

which is fine for say, fries, and nutrient bars

summer cedar
#

sounds like a job for off-the-shelf, custom molyfabs.

It's a nice setting, but what's the player going to do?

Simply living in a utopian world is like Starfield, which is one of the reasons it received mixed reviews. The gamer needs a solid sense of purpose, multiple objectives, etc. which connect to said world in a meaningful way.

A compulsion loop, reward loop or core loop is a habitual chain of activities that a user may feel compelled to repeat. Typically, this loop is designed to create a neurochemical reward in the user such as the release of dopamine.

You have almost NO REASON to promote farmers and agriculture, now.

#

Going middle class manufacturing from the get-go just works EVERY time.

mild gust
#

Farming is dead

#

That's why billionares buy up the land and do nothing with it

summer cedar
#

While true, the game used to be much more flexible.

#

You could choose to create a country out of the class of citizenry you wanted.

#

But not anymore.

mild gust
#

Can fires start due to revolting citizens

summer cedar
#

If you mean devastation, I've seen it happen only due to wars. Revolts as such involve part of your army defecting.

BUT, you can easily avoid ALL of that by promoting the middle class. 🀣

mild gust
#

So nothing like modern day china

summer cedar

It's more like a Trump-topia.

He wants to promote local manufacturing. Pretty much all Victoria 3 is about now.

SO, all you have to do is promote your middle-class resource dudes and you're gold. πŸ˜„

I think our school systems need to be changed. Get rid of unnecessary subjects that Google can easily teach kids. Teach students five languages, and math and science instead.

Everything else kids should just learn from Google if they are interested.

mild gust

Give electorals like science

summer cedar

Yes. Electives would be great. In fact, every four years of education, there should be a six month exploration period, where kids can check out different subjects and see what interests them.

I love the endless mode in this demo.

#

I'd just play that FOREVA!

#

The only disappointment for me is, when the hero enters rage mode, everyone falls to the ground and all he does is kick them repeatedly. The same move, again and again. Perhaps Brad doesn't know how to trigger the other moves, but still.....

Makes sense. It's how Palpatine conquered the universe.

mild gust

Someone @ mods in hardware

#

Funny how the steam chats always go to hardware and lounge first

#

Plus a few other random channels

#

But not often generative ai or food

#

Wonder if it scans for recent chatting to get max responses

often in career chat too

I think the tool just posts it to a chat that mods read if they open up discord

why dont we just send a lidar into space to map it πŸ˜›

mild gust
#

Agreed

summer cedar
#

Essentially, we should gift Teslas to relatives we want to get rid of.

#

For the ones we like, we buy BYDs.

#

πŸ€” Trump bought a Tesla on the White House lawn, right?

#

So, all we need now is a wall and a volunteer kid.

#

Eric. T. will do just fine.

mild gust
#

Just think if someone hacks your Tesla

summer cedar
#

Right now, I am sure the Tesla will ignore the hacker too.

#

It will do whatever IT wants.

#

Enable SUPA AI!!!
