it's not the seeing, in VR things actually feel real, you have full depth perception and it legits feels like looking at those objects
The problem is movement, you are seeing movement but the brain is not getting any sensory information about the movement except the visuals which creates a disconnect between what is happening
It's the opposite of the motion sickness you get in a car when looking at your phone, in that case you are feeling the movement but not getting any visual information about it

to physically travel you have to go up on the rocket yourself (no inventory or even ammo). But you can remotely control thru the map. So if you need anything built remotely you'd have robots available
and once you're on another planet, you're stuck there till you can build a rocket silo and a rocket to get back up
at one such point, I needed some more supplies from home base, but didnt have them available to request them up to my ship to bring, so remotely I changed some assemblers to make me logistics chests, place them so that the parts I needed could be requested
