there are times in games when you get crowded and the animations all kind of jam up your ability or do knockbacks / interrupts etc. I find it feels better if you have some kind of pushback move you can switch to rather than an attack. That way the player feels like their skill has gotten them out of certain death. One game I played recent didn't have it and when I got ambushed by 20 mobs I was rattled around like a pinball with physical blocking, interrupts and knockbacks all at once. It felt horrible. I did survive though because I'm a pro gamer ¬_¬

the only survival game mode I enjoyed really was The Division mode. It was short, 20-30 minute bursts. Get in, get loot, try get out before the Hunters or other players get you. Warzone's DMZ mode is the same thing. But what is missing from those two variants is longevity. Once you have played it 10-20 times it gets stale and there is no reason to farm it. If someone can get that feel of the mode but add a solid end game infinite farm experience that feels worth it, I'd think it would improve the whole genre

One idea I thought would work is community based farming. Like Planetside's eternal war thing. You go out in teams playing the game as usual to farm for the community and your own equipment. This improves your starting equipment as the community grows. Then every so often there is a time slot where any other faction/community can invade zones for a mass pvp event. Survival of the fittest kinda thing

Anarchy Online used to do a mass world pvp event where clans could fight over land ownership by destroying a node when it was active. This would give your clan benefits and it was a pretty large world map so there were always zones available to fight for.

It's pretty, but the combat is not as smooth as Elden Ring. It could do with a bit of optimisation. The environments are interesting. The fox god that accompanies you is pretty cute.

It was set to W-UPS for the past decade or so, and that doesn't seamlessly transition to battery power.

Setting it to N-UPS / UPS solved the issue, but I had never read the F@#$! manual so far, since the tech who installed it set it up for me.
