I think I can understand now why some Hero Siege players are annoyed by the 'change in direction' by the dev.

I think the dev forgot to update the loot system, much like Diablo 4 before Season 4, when he made alterations to the game.

I am level 56 now and for the last 30 levels or so, I have not received a SINGLE piece of loot that I'd say is equivalent to my level. Until level 20, the loot improved gradually. After that, it's basically been the same kind of loot, with just roll variations.

I think the game has a Paragon system like Diablo, BUT by the time a player reaches even halfway there, they'd be burned out and unenthused by the lack of incremental loot.

I remember back in the early 2000s playing Anarchy Online and they were normally a subscription service. But they did a free to play too which allowed adverts to play in-game on billboards. So one minute you were fighting the alien invasion and next thing the aliens were sponsored by coca-cola or some random product that completely took you out of the immersive state. So if EA are going to pu adverts in games, they are going to kill the immersion in their own game for what? So people pay a subscription or pay to get rid of adverts? This is a broken system and I don't think it will work or last, but if they persist with it regardless then we have to vote with our wallets and make a stand.

I genuinely did blame myself for the longest time about communication but my tutors had to step in and correct me on that.

were radio silent the entire time doing their dissertation stuff mostly, and working on team project as an afterthought
