Linux, unfortunately, is years behind where it should be when it comes to user experience. it is still like the long winded kid who thinks they are sounding smart, when they are just off-putting those around them. example, I run 2 different nvidia cards and up to 7 screens. it wants to run different driver versions on both. annoying, but ok. biggest issue is I use the toslink optical port to get audio to the amp. it does not even see is, OOTB. Now, i have to spend hours fighting for something that should be a simply GUI selection. And the fun part is, it is almost like there is intentional misinformation and techniques posted to obfuscate linuxs usability and configurability anyways.

and, because of the general apathy programmed into the younger generations, they will continue to 'IDC' about windows BS, so in order to make any money, i still have to compile for windows. Not a super easy thing to do directly on linux. As the saying goes: "Linux is free, if your time is worth nothing"

Does anyone here know much about cloning operating systems? I want to set up a master Ubuntu operating system with updates and applications and whatever else and make an image of that so I can deploy it to other computers so they are all the same. I've found a program called clonezilla which appears to do what I want but right now I'm planning for my master OS to be a virtual machine since I'm too lazy to set up an old laptop or dual boot. I've been told that what this will only work with netbooting and I should instead just use the normal Ubuntu installer with a custom script however the machines are isolated from the internet so I can't install updates, docker containers or tooling to build those containers

nah you usually would want the post process effects to run behind menus etc, or you get blurry and grainy color shifted menus

It's way more compartmentalized than most projects need

It's meant as a base for AAA, where you have more than 100 people all working on the project.
For solo's and even decently sized small teams it isn't a hugely useful base

It's good to use it for reference IMO. I have moved the lyra modules into a plugin so it's always there in my project, but it's not perfect because it exposes stuff into the settings/editor.
