Im on 5.2 because I haven't updated for a month or two but I have seen glitches with Substrate when framerates are variable. Also when you are working with them you can't disable realtime in the editor or a lot of transparency issues occur and they don't update internally. But aside from that I've found it just as good as regular materials and better in others.

yeah thats what I mean by 3d neural learning paths. Being 2d right now still takes extreme calculation and often pre-determined data sets to work on, but once we get more powerful AI that requires conjunctive planar pathing then the A* linking will truly shine. But currently we just clone and blend images, track moving images, trawl datasets for answers and very basic AI functionality. At some point we will be using live decision based AI that will need more intense realtime capability and that's where 3d pathing comes in strong.

I don't think quantum computing will ever be useful for AI, current models use tensors of thousands of dimensions, heavily parallelized which you would expect to be good for quantum computing and yet it isn't

yeah we couldn't do much more complicated AI with current hardware as it's limited by materials. But in the future we will have to have an open sharing system of data between A.I. cores that can cross reference and validate. And QC will just get better and smaller in terms of hardware so integrated more and have better language and functionality to use with it. But I am just spitballing really. Maybe it will end up being superceeded by another method. Can never tell. We only had computers for less than 100 years in reality, so who knows what is around in 500 years.

We are gonna be seeing some large improvements to AI in the next few years, I wouldn't be surprised if we get AGI by 2030
In 2017 the attention based transformer was discovered which pretty much every single LLM (and image gen to some degree) is based on, so another breakthrough is inevitable

Before that we had RNN/LSTM language models which was state of the art method at the time and it seemed like it couldn't get much better and here we are with a much faster, efficient and better method

Current massive LLMs exhibit emergent behaviors we don't understand at all, LLMs on paper should never be able to act as a chat bot, all it should be able to do is basically be an auto complete, that's what the transformer architecture is designed and trained to do

So this chat like behavior is a complete mystery
Even more recent research is showing that LLMs build kinda this internal model of the "world", understanding beyond just the training data

LLM training is done by giving it a sequence of words/tokens, removing the last one and having it predict that last one so it is basically trained to be a fancy autocomplete, so it should only be able to reply with exactly what it saw in training
In fact shouldn't even be able to reply at all, only complete your sentence/input
Any extra behavior we see is emergent behavior we don't understand, there are some theories but not a definitive answer why it happens

There has also been some research that has inspected the data flow inside the LLMs, in its hundreds of billions of weights it kinda arranges itself to form complex "structures" which is not too much unlike a brain

Well the "fancy auto complete" comparison isn't fair imo. AI has context (aka data set) so it tries to "replicate" how the next piece of text should be. If the input is structured as a command the AI will most likely respond as if it was an assistant. Cause unlike an auto complete it takes in the whole sentence to "predict" the next word it should say

But still when you play around with a raw unaligned LLMs they are just autocomplete, it completes your input
It only gains chat like behaviors when you fine tune it (which is like pretraining and still next token prediction but on a specialized task)
It's again trained to predict the next token but it somehow learns to understand context which is as an emergent behavior (meaning not trained to do that, or shouldn't really be possible)

If you don't do that the LLM ends up overfitting and not generalizing enough

So the model learns to generate that token when it "thinks" it should stop generating basically ("thinks" isn't really the right word but trying to get the point accross)

@spare glade @sand oxide (this is kind of cringe ik but) I just wanted to give a shot out and thank you both for all the help and some of the guidance, I've spent the last 4 days or so 10 hours a day trying to learn how to get it working but I finally did it. This is 1 actor on the server with a net serialized struct containing 5k items which the clients are using to spawn balls of the appropriate color and location. The profiling results network wise look unbelievable and I don't know how to thank you guys enough. I'm fucking ecstatic.
