the performance in starfield is absolute trash tho on planets. I'm not running the best GPU but the fact it doesn't let you have exclusive fullscreen mode is forcing desktop resolution (in my case 4K) and scaling back to 50% rendering still doesn't help. I tried everything on lowest settings and can't hit more than around 32fps on planets.

I don't know why they persist with the creation engine. It's a pile of old shite. After spending a few weeks modding with it I came to the conclusion you could write a GL base engine with better rendering techniques
there is a reason it comes with loading screens everywhere. They don't distance cull, there's no imposters and if you get any kind of open space it tanks
