honestly the softer keyboards have better accuracy for typing than a clacker. you are always having to jump lanes across a bigger gap. Therefore a task like micromanaging typing is better done with softer touches so it takes less time to move between keys. Back when typewriters were forced by mechanical elements to raise typing standards it become a slower = more accurate system. It was always known it sucked. That's why typing went down to flat surface in the zx81 days but from that we realised it was too much the other way. That leaves us with the middle ground. Even though it's going to be a thing of the past within 50 years I think. I'm confident human interfacing with computers is going physical.

I really like my keyboard at the moment, but I think I'd like a lower profile. I like the idea of the button being pressed the moment I push on it, not after travel.
I've always had linears before, and after using very definite tactiles for a while, linears literally feel like typing on a sponge to me now. I wish that was an exaggeration.
I had the Steelseries keyboard where you can adjust the actuation point. But all that travel that doesn't do anything just makes it feel off (like 90% of the motion is just there...because, at that point), and again, it's linear.

I haven't been able to find something like that for desktop, but I really like the keyboard of the some thin laptops/windows tablets, like the surface. It feels like almost like a nice tactile switch but with ultra short travel because it's so flat.
It's a bit mushy when bottoming out though, but I like the tactility.

I tried but can't say I noticed much. Apparently the zealios are so specific that if you lube them you'd just reduce the tactility and not much else.
Tried adding o-rings too, but that never mechanically added up for me. The stem isn't what's bottoming out, it's the switch mechanism itself. ๐คทโโ๏ธ

It's the one I use daily, but with custom switches and caps.
My favourite part is how I can unplug it and take it with me and it's already set up to connect to my laptop wirelessly, and just plug it in when I get back home and go between them completely seamlessly.
Same with my mouse, I use the dongle at home, click a button to switch to bluetooth mode and it's already setup for the laptop.
I also stream my desktop to my laptop/tablet, so I essentially have my home setup wherever I go without any extra effort. ๐
Streaming pc's have gotten so much better since we had to do 2 fps in black and white on logmein to grind in WoW at school back in the day. ๐

I purposely got a board with hot swappable switches, so later on I can try other switches and maybe mix and match as well as just replace any if they quit working properly. The Logitech one I had an issue where specific switches would either double actuate or not actuate at all and I do not want to ever deal with that again

Hey everyone! I had a quick question.
So I am working on a horror game right now in Unreal Engine. It is in first person. Now there are really only two actual items in the game, a flashlight and a motion scanner. I wanted to ask if I should add FPS arms to the game. As it would be simple, I wonder how much performance it would save if you could not see the character. Though I am going for quite a realistic style, so I also wanted to know if not having arms will damage the immersion and take away from the experience. In terms of animations, there really will only be two, but the question is the worth of adding something like this and if it will take away immersion or gain performance.

Think of like a grid, each cell in the grid/shape has a list of shapes that fit it, you start by "collapsing" a possible option (basically just selecting one of the valid options), move to the neighbouring cell that was affected by this collapse and repeat the same process over and over again and that's basically it

If you want manually to put them, then at least use an existing tile editor.
It will allow you to setup the tiles and put them with a preview. Then it exports to a file which you can just read and construct.
