Yeah, its pretty much that.. they do some fun stuff to make it learn better completions (you see it a lot in transformer architectures). To be honest, these LLM's are powerful because they have a long set of tokens when they're learning during distributed training (token is just an id value for a word or word fragment). You can test it by training your own model and using only say 6 tokens with the same architecture and see how much dumber it is ๐
There's open source LLM's now though at least. Weirdly Meta announced an open source model called LLama, but its only OS for research and non commercial, which is pointless. Bloom is proper open source if I recall.

Yeah, and it has so many problems some people are already like, "Well, 4.1 will fix these problems." ๐คฃ Just like 3.1 was supposed to fix 3.0. And 3.3 fix 3.2. And 4.0 fix 3.x. It's the perpetual boasting, and then can kicking without results that irritates me with that engine.

And SDFGI is half fo Godot's rendering problems... it causes really bad shadow/light artifacts when you enable it-- amplifying the problems Godot's renderer already has. And, it performs terribly. A whole game using Lumen ran better on my old PC than a single roomed game using SDFGI in Godot. ๐

Juan, essentially, told Victor Blanco he didn't know what he was doing when Victor offered performance fixes for the engine (boosts of between 30-50% btw)

Yeah, there are forks of Godot that try to improve it and backstream the changes-- but it's still an uphill battle for those people doing it.
And those engines, despite improvements, can't fix the problems fast enough than new ones get piled on as the engine grows.
It's kind of a monumental task... much easier said than actually done.

appeal of 3D is the unrealism, hence why unreal engine is called "unreal" because it surely mimicks realism but its mostly a marketing plot to expand unreal engine into architecture visualization and other lucrative fields... A good game with appealing visuals is medievil from ps1, the success is mostly caused by the color choices that we dont know for sure if were accidental of work of art, but in any case it did work... so I think you could start by thinking of a color scheme, or an atmosphere. As for models, low or high, I would go high poly due to my own preference, but I have seen some people being able to bring variety in the boring and totally uninspired field of low poly modeling, so it really boils down to how you do it rather than a general rule. I think with some creativity even lower poly models would bring a good result for a game

1 - They fit with the theme and keep a consistent style. Its the reason even bare bones pixel art 3d, or PSX style games can look appealing, while photorealism can. Consistency is needed.
2 - High poly visuals aren't really used that much in games. but if you're talking low poly, as in the sort of blocky stylized look, then certainly that, over realism.
3 - Responsiveness. Animations must feel responsive. Slow robotic movements for a human character doesn't really work well. It needs to feel natural
4 - Contrast. Sci fi always has heavy contrast against somewhat unseen geometric shapes. Think tunnels that are trapezoidal. Abnormally crisp, clean glossy white walls, with very angular neon inlighting.
5- For SciFi? Alien Isloation for sure. It really nailed that one. Seconded by Subnautica. Just in General? Games like The Last of Us 2, and Dying Light 2 really do well at making vibrant environments

I understand the Public model is 2021, but it keeps hinting the the Plus model probably has newer information. Hoping to see which Blender version it reports, as that is a super quick way to tell, and pertinent to me
