Your game(s) either sell or they don't really sell well and then it doesn't matter whether it's 30% of 10%. Also Steam does a ton of stuff for you and your game in the end. I too think they could potentially offer solutions for a lower cut on their side, perhaps disable certain functionality if that's too pricey for them and let developers decide on that but I don't think it's so extremely unfair that you can't do anything with it. But that's my opinion I guess.

All fine by me that you buy on there, but I will not buy on Epic or whatever when their user experience is much worse than for example Steam. And I'm not even saying I like the way it currently is, I would much prefer for something seriously competing with Steam so they don't have a monopoly and need to actually make good decisions to keep customers but the truth is that nothing comes close to Steam in a lot of ways right now from a customer perspective, from mods to available games to support etc.

They certainly help market games, if you made your own launcher with no customers there's no way anyone would ever buy your game. By simply offering third party developers to be on their platform they already indirectly help you. They could also have pulled a Ubisoft, EA and whatever and not allow anything on their launcher and just have their own games but they choose not to. Best decision they ever made I guess though lol
And again they offer plenty of resources in multiple ways to help your game succeed, cloud save, free multiplayer with lobby systems, cloud save, they deal with the entire download / distribute your game part, they allow you to market your store page through whatever ways you like.
