Yeah, the project was basically started off as dating sim. The idea was PAST FUTURE is an in-universe story written by one of the heroine, and the protagonist had the idea of making a game adaptation of it.

And then as I grew up, I found the writting to be so cringey, I can't salvage the story as is.

But then I started using UE, and then bring the supposed in-universe story to be its own game.

So the dating part isn't true, but making game adaptation part is.

Also PAST FUTURE was supossed to be about time travel but figured the world building would be too difficult to nail down, and Re Zero was the hype at the time, so I turned it into Isekai story

oooo in grounded there is a sandbox that is too hot to walk on, but you don't get burned if your in the shadow, but it's the shadow casted from the skylight, so you can wait for certain sun angles or cast your own shadows by building walls. super cool feature I wonder how they did it

ye dunno about flexibility, but i think blender, max n co do it a bit less confusingly, like in max i have one window where i set global illumination, but in unreal, i set it for the project, the world, the post process volume, and each light, each lightfunction and each material, static object and whatever else might affect it seperately, sometimes dependant on each other, and so on... the mental image to change some value looks like a typical blueprint, or a noodle salad
