If you need help with matrix math to do with transforms, give me a shout. I don't know the math at all (it's been 20 years since I did it in school), but I know how to use them.

It's more important to know how and when to use it to solve actual problems than to know the inner workings. Sure, the inner workings can use useful, too, but not as much as knowing how to apply them.
The engine does all the math for you.
I knew 0 English all the way up to highschool, then I started watching a lot of twitch and YT and slowly started understanding what they were saying and by the end of high school I was having perfect grades in the English classes

A common issue I have with 3dsmax is not being able to scale rigs after the fact, no amount of reset xform or conversions work. The only solution is to completely recreate the rig again at the correct scale. Im wondering if its one of these sorts of issues where the transform isnt correctly imported for the rig. I think thats why Maya is popular because of the way it handles rig transforms

I found out the hard way with how the wheels are auto positioned using the rig for vehicles. I wondered why they were never in the correct location. Turns out it has to do with the scaling of the original rig

I have no idea how it exports, Id assume if the issue was with FBX it would do it for all rigs not just 3dsmax

no, I export from 3dsmax to UE and it displays correctly but the root scaling is incorrect if you try to scale it in 3dsmax. I have seen similar issues when auto rigs use mirroring of bones, the coordinates get flipped
you can for sure fix this in blender, i would never ever come up with the idea to try it in DAZ tho
recreating the rig either way unfortunately

oh hell i keep etting artifacts every 2 movie renders or so... pixelated flares, reflections in the sky like batman signs, weird streaks as if someone painted over the image with a brush... and so on... best one were the 4x the normal size images that were just red and green lines
was super annoying to fix the specular reflection bug, took me 2 days to set all the "hidden" high quality settings that prevented Moiré pattern from appearing... like if you have parallel lines you see a sinus like curve at certain angles, but if you have a high poly mesh you have criss crossing parallel lines... and the curves overlap... creating a rhombus at each intersection
those reflections should have straight edges...
well ya, you fix it by setting every reflection, light and uv setting to monster unreal

Guys I have a serious question - how in the world do I estimate the amount of time it'll take me to complete a programming task when talking to an employer?

just finished playing chapter 4 fortnite the 5.1 update and oh my god man
turning on lumen and nanite on my 1080ti got me 40 fps
i have to turn down the settings to get 60+ fps
need to upgrade like soon cuz im running out of game i can play on high settings now
i tested turning on nanite first andc i went from 90 fps to 60 after that than turning on lumen that make me goes to 40
this is on high settings not epic yet
tried all epic and i got 15 fps
