Once you're getting more serious with the drums, that's where you're starting to put which manufacturer into consideration.
Me personally, I'd go with Paiste for cymbals, Evans for the drumheads, Promark for the sticks, DW for the "rig", and order custom shells from Kyre (local drum factory that I know). My dream drum kit configuration is more for prog rock and jazz fusion, though I'm going to emphasize more on the concert toms.
