Considering multi billion $ยฃ companies use tokens fobs which are just little sms devices, either their security is terrible or they judge it to be secure. I worked briefly for BP Tech Support - that's they way they do it.
Saying that, we also had unrestricted access to just about everything, no compartmenting of things at all - a single command could have shut down BP UK and BP SA servers, workstations, access systems, pumps, you name it. Sooo maybe not the best company to use as an example ๐
