Pascal was developed to replace C.... but, it didn't catch on. Then later the pascal developer created Delphi... and Microsoft got all upset because Delphi was taking over the world, so paid the pascal/Delphi developer oodles of money to leave the company crippled... and then build C#
To this day, I still hold a grudge against C# 😄
However... the Delphi/C# guy did apologize in a way.... and said he would have loved to stay and keep developing Delphi.... but, Microsoft offered him more money than he could have imagined or turned down. 😄
So... I mean, who can blame him? 😄

imgui is pervasive in the industry, the public list of games using it is pretty insane and I know for a fact that it's missing some pretty high profile titles https://github.com/ocornut/imgui/wiki/Software-using-dear-imgui
and... frankly the leaks look like any big game in development. Final art and lighting come together very quickly towards the end of production in AAA these days, and people complaining about how it looks is part of why it's so frustrating for something like this to get "leaked" (cough outright stolen via someone social engineering their way into the company's slack channel, apparently).

It's one thing when press leak something under media embargo (it sucks but was stuff that was getting shown off anyway), or when employees talk about working conditions (hopefully it leads to better conditions). I dislike reductive takes like that. They also made a much bigger world while still being dense, and added an impressive multiplayer component (tech and design-wise, no comment on their monetization... Or loading times).
I also dislike the expectation that every game must include every single feature of the last but also add in 20 other things. That's how you end up with massive projects that no longer have a cohesive design and one of many reasons it's impossible to put out content in the same abundance as those nostalgia goggles get you. And how a series gets burdened with being unable to change anything ever or experiment.
