To those who aren’t aware, the local LGBT center recently fired its programming staff without notice and threatened their severance with confidentiality agreements.

This also took away all of our resources, support, and programming and there’s been a severe lack of transparency from the resource center on what their newly announced “community wellness program”

We’ve chosen to write an official letter of protest and organize in a discord server set up by one of the former programming coordinators.

TL;DR Resource Center held a Q&A event to answer our questions on the community wellness program. They left a single Mental Health Department Manager and two demoted grieving and overworked staff members to answer for a room full of angry queens.

Here’s why I’m going to view this as a Victory (Madeon pun intended)

I had expected everyone there to be in support of resource center. I was afraid that the negative community response had been exclusive to those of us organizing and we’d be viewed as a nuisance. We all showed up in merch from our previous programs and the rest of the room was majority 50+ in demographic. Little did I expect, they’d be the loudest, most angry awesome bastards on our gay planet. We also were considerate of the staff that were forced to answer on behalf of the Board and Leadership. I've been to a few raves before but this is my first festival, anything i should know about going between stages, entry, or anything else? I'm not familiar with the venue but it seems simple enough

entry/exit walkways can get a little clogged sometimes

the mainstage will have a lot of people at certain points to the point it will fill up all the way to the back almost so be aware of that

literally take note of your access points to other rooms/outside so you aren’t fighting your way through the crowd to find out it’s an exit only

they are VERY strict about “you can only enter/exit here” cause you scan your stupid wristband each time

the food almost always sucks and is super expensive and that area gets super packed like as soon as the fest starts so eat before or after if you can. TRUST ME

there will probably be lots of mud in the outdoor areas

floor inside will be disgusting near the end of the night so bring something to sit on if you need it

if you want a pic in front of the LAN letters do that at the beginning of the night

think that about covers it lol
