go to the video file > properties > opens with:
if is to open with the photos, change to a video player!

you can also install codec (k-lite codec pack) to get support for all the video formats
and correct thumbnails for every video format

windows dont have support for many codec even the basic ones.
so native players will not play/reproduce sounds without codec from the store.
The "icons/png" on the video files comes from thumbnails that explorer.exe uses to display icons or preview to the files. without codec the explorer.exe doesnt know what to show in there

the best way is downloading codecpack and play with mediaplayer classic or **VLC **

to fix this thing on nvidia...i think you need to force everything to play on your headphone

windows uses two:

default communication
default audio device

the second one makes everything play on the correct device (your headphones)
