Sometimes my second monitor goes black for about a second (not the main one).
The last time it happened was about a month ago.
I’ve already:
tested different GPU driver versions
tested different Windows versions
changed the DisplayPort cable
Both monitors are connected via DisplayPort.
The main monitor runs at 200 Hz, the secondary at 165 Hz.
I’m using an application called CRU (Custom Resolution Utility) to manage resolutions and refresh rates, but at the time of the issue both monitors were set to 1920×1080.
I only started using CRU about 2 weeks ago, so I’m not sure if it’s related.
What could be the possible cause of this issue?

You may have provided insufficient information in your tech support post. These might be useful to include to assist with troubleshooting.
- Whether this is a desktop PC, laptop PC, or Microsoft Surface (including desktops, laptops, and tablets)
- Full CPU name (e.g. Intel Core i7-14700K)
- (Desktop only) Full motherboard name (e.g. MSI PRO B760M-A)
- RAM model, slots used, and speed (including whether XMP/EXPO is in use, if a desktop). (Find this with CPU-Z or Task Manager > Performance > Memory)
- GPU (e.g. RTX 4070)
- Model of the storage device your OS (e.g. Windows, Linux) is installed to
- Model of the storage device your game/app to be troubleshooted is installed to, if different from the OS drive
- (Desktop only) PSU model and capacity
- OS version (e.g. Windows 11 24H2. The year edition part (e.g. 24H2) is considered part of the version and should not be omitted. Similarly, for Linux distributions, include the full name of the installed release including any variant suffixes (e.g. Linux Mint 24 Cinnamon)
- (Desktop and external monitors) Monitor model, resolution, refresh rate, and cable used (e.g. HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA, DVI, or USB Type-C, including mini variants where applicable)
- The game or app you are trying to run (please also specify where you get your games from like Steam/Battle.net/Xbox Game Pass)
Answering these questions might also help:
- Have you reinstalled the Nvidia drivers by removing them with DDU, and reinstalling them by downloading the drivers manually and installing them?
- Did you perform a driver rollback? If yes, by what method?
- Have you made any changes to your PC in the past few days (including but not limited to software and hardware installations)?
- Have you encountered any error codes/blue screens/graphical glitches when encountering the problem? If yes, describe steps to reproduce the problem. Please send a photo/screenshot/video of the problem here as well.
More specifically, the monitor model, refresh rate, resolution and what was the original native settings before you messed it up with CRU

I only changed with cru my main monitor btw
before cru i used the default resolution values
i never used cru to that 2nd monitor
Why do you need to use CRU? You are already on a 1080p and both monitors are natively supported by your DP ports
Keep in mind that any custom resolutions are basically an overclock and they may not work
im not overclocking it and i dont know if its the issue, in desember same Think happening without cru
i using it for custom resolutions
Well, you probably already know from all the disclaimers but yeah, anything custom isn't guaranteed
Yea but weird is because i use that cru app on main monitor not that 2nd one
