I tried to update my software through the Nvidia website, and after downloading and opening the file, I got this error code, so I don't know what to do.

You may have provided insufficient information in your tech support post. These might be useful to include to assist with troubleshooting.

  • Whether this is a desktop PC, laptop PC, or Microsoft Surface (including desktops, laptops, and tablets)
  • Full CPU name (e.g. Intel Core i7-14700K)
  • (Desktop only) Full motherboard name (e.g. MSI PRO B760M-A)
  • RAM model, slots used, and speed (including whether XMP/EXPO is in use, if a desktop). (Find this with CPU-Z or Task Manager > Performance > Memory)
  • GPU (e.g. RTX 4070)
  • Model of the storage device your OS (e.g. Windows, Linux) is installed to
  • Model of the storage device your game/app to be troubleshooted is installed to, if different from the OS drive
  • (Desktop only) PSU model and capacity
  • OS version (e.g. Windows 11 24H2. The year edition part (e.g. 24H2) is considered part of the version and should not be omitted. Similarly, for Linux distributions, include the full name of the installed release including any variant suffixes (e.g. Linux Mint 24 Cinnamon)
  • (Desktop and external monitors) Monitor model, resolution, refresh rate, and cable used (e.g. HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA, DVI, or USB Type-C, including mini variants where applicable)
  • The game or app you are trying to run (please also specify where you get your games from like Steam/Battle.net/Xbox Game Pass)

Answering these questions might also help:

  • Have you reinstalled the Nvidia drivers by removing them with DDU, and reinstalling them by downloading the drivers manually and installing them?
  • Did you perform a driver rollback? If yes, by what method?
  • Have you made any changes to your PC in the past few days (including but not limited to software and hardware installations)?
  • Have you encountered any error codes/blue screens/graphical glitches when encountering the problem? If yes, describe steps to reproduce the problem. Please send a photo/screenshot/video of the problem here as well.

intel’s 13th and 14th gen of cpus have a microcode bug that makes them request too much voltage, effectively frying them

#

and that error is a common sign
