this would probably go best in a msi support center an not an NVIDIA gpu / driver forum page. also word to the wise IF IT ISNT BROKE DONT TOUCH IT, there is no need to update bios unless your having an issue or are on a 13th 14th gen intel cpu an need the mircocode fix, other than that dude i would just leave it alone. and if you do decide to do it id suggest getting a UPS ( uninterrupted power supply ) cuz if you loose power during the update process an it can take a while sometimes yull brick the whole pc an will need a new MOBO at that point.

i am on a 14600KF that's the thing
i'm scared it'll break down so i wanna make sure it's up to date
and i don't really risk having a power outage as i'm living in paris
@marble maple
i already updated the bios when i got it on the fix but i saw a newer version with some more fixes
yeahhh then if thats the case you kind of have no choice , there is another work around but u manually have to set all the values in the bios yourself
how does that work ?
if there was some way u could live stream yur bios to me i could show you what to manually change, but at that point would be considered a undervoltage along with some wattage an boost clocks changes. where with the new bios update its technically what there calling its "default values" which would help with you for warranty purposes. say if you wanted to RMA yur cpu if they ask are u on the latest bios an theyll see if thru the microcode on the cpu itself they void the warranty
i don't want to touch the wattage or anything, i guess i just need the newest microcode fixes, i got this pc in october of last year and i haven't got any issues with the cpu so far
i didn't get anything on the second part
yeah then the bios update is the way to go, there is another way you can do the basic stuff to help till u get around updating it, but yull have to turn off intel adaptive boost an the other crap that tells the intel cpus to run at its rated an advertised speeds
so me im on a 11900k an for me to get the performance i paid for i have to turn on intel adaptive boost 3.0 with the intel speed step, EIST msi enhanced turbo etc etc . its alittle ridiculous which is why they moved away from it. the 12 13 14th gen cpus have the newer verizon an the E cores
long story short the option to do without the bios update will void warranty on the cpu say if something was to happen an you went to intel for a replacement
i want the bios update anyway
get a cheap UPS( uninterrupted power supply + surge protected ) thats rated a higher wattage than yur current pc PSU ( power supply unit ) . better safe than sorry. say if u got a 650wat PSU yull need at 850wat UPS
to actually answer your question , ive has similar issues updating bios on equitment that i work on. for what ever reason id use the different brand USB with same about of space an it would work. sometimes also haveing to much space on the cpu can effect this aswell, dont ask why
well i'll try getting a new usb then i guess
but i already updated my bios through this one
that's why i don't get why it doesn't get recognized
the usb only has the one update on it right
try reformating ? probably right ? also the zipped folder that u downloaded, did u unzipped it ?
