When playing games, do you normally have other apps running at the same time?
(while we're at it, also show the CPU tab while not playing a game)
i mean right now its around 1% and 6%, with discord, spotify, chrome (8 tabs in it), i have some other apps running on the background too
such as f.lux, wallpaper engine, and translucent taskbar but those don't really take much
and when playing i mostly have those except chrome that i'm closing
wallpaper engine
Live wallpapers (e.g. Wallpaper Engine) use system resources and can be considered like running a full-screen game at all times, with the performance drop accompanying it. For best performance while gaming, exit them fully. Do not pause them.
The same also applies to automated wallpaper changing, which will cause a momentary load spike every time the wallpaper changes. This applies even to Windows' own wallpaper changer! Pause the wallpaper changes, or disable it, before playing games, to prevent unexpected periodic stutters.
You might be seriously forgetting something. This is pretty much like having another game running at all times.
If possible, rerun 3DMark and retest games with Wallpaper Engine fully exited
3dmark is already without wallpaper engine
Also f.lux isn't really necessary on modern Windows either
and i already tried closing it etc, but it doesn't really affect my performance over all
it's the same with and without
windows one kept making it too yellow so i got this
Please try with a driver from around that period then
DDU should be the same regardless
okayy and which one do i take
because i really don't know anything about amd drivers ðŸ˜
i updated to the latest because i needed it to launch the last of us 2
You're in a real pickle then, you don't have that option
If only CS is causing issues but not other games I'd investigate if it's the game itself
i mean i finished the game but i'm kinda pissed off that i always need to update so the gpu supports newer games
well for me it is the game
on reddit or steam forums, i can only see people complaining about the same issue
and i didn't see a fix anywhere
and its people with even better pcs than me
i feel like i'm having bottle neck, on ultra 1080p or low 1080p it doesn't change anything at the frame rate
Hello everyone,
While playing CS2, I’m experiencing some screen tearing or flickering, and because of this, I don’t feel the smoothness of 144Hz. Both my system and monitor are set to 144Hz, and my FPS is around 200. However, it still doesn’t behave like a true 144Hz experience — it feels like...
@robust marten actually i fixed it and it's so dumb, i think the game is broken with both msaa and when its on windowed fullscreen, i'm back on fullscreen without msaa and i'm getting between 350 and 450 fps, it's butter
msaa is really out of date at this point and should not be used where possible
even with perf to spare
well i mean most of the comp games only have msaa or fxaa, fxaa is way too blurry to play, and otherwise its too pixelated even on 1080p, but on other games it's fine
