is 850w enough for a 9800x3d and a 5080? some tech dudes told me it's gonna work and some says that it's gonna be a bomb in my house.

850w should be enough but make sure it's a known and trusted brand and not some antec psu or something

#

oh yeah it's from msi

fickle flint
#

you should be good

#

what tier is it?

Psu’s dont give 100% power all the time

#

I suggest 1000w For 5080

#

Its going to give you like 70% power after some gaming (the Psu)

#

Which means 595w

#

Only 9800x3d can use up to 160w

#

595-160=435

#

5080= 360w

latent swan
#

435-360=75

#

75w isnt enough for the rest of your build

i could downgrade my mobo (i think i will considering the instability issues, x870e nova btw) and use that extra budget for a proper 1000w psu plus some other upgrades

#

If 70% =700w

#

10%=100w

#

100x10=1,000

#

If u want 100% performance from the psu

#

U will get a black screen

#

Instead of a 100% performance

#

Bro

#

U can buy a 5080

#

But cant afford the price difference between a 850w psu and a 1000w psu?

#

🙉

#

also ignore what the other guy is saying, as long as its a good brand and is more than nvidia's recommended wattage it's fine

#

which in this case

#

nvidia recommends 850

#

the PSU you chose is also MSI and is 80+ gold certified

#

which is very good

#

so ignore what the other guy is saying

#

but it's also not bad to get higher

a1000gl is more expensive than the 850w counterpart by 30%

#

i definitely don't want a C4 in my house

#

ig ill just downgrade some parts specifically my mobo since i'm also paranoid about the SoC voltage issue

#

i don't want to touch the BIOS except enabling PBO and EXPO
