#Disable Auto Updates for the Nvidia App
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
What kind of issue were you encountering?
Would rather try to fix for real if there's a possible true fix
Shadowplay maximizing FPS to monitor refreshrate and video settings resetting after every restart or user switch
I've already tried everything and the only fix was reverting back to older versions
Shadowplay has many unresolved issues, thus it is not supported here.
If you are looking for a reliable alternative, please install OBS Studio and read the following guides to configure it:
I would also be very interested. I also want to use an old version. But unfortunately it always installs the latest version when opening the App.
Yes but this problem isnt about shadowplay. I just want to see if theres a way to disable the auto updates for the Nvidia App as it causes issues
Ok. Disable automatic update would be great
...did you mean "game settings"?
Something doesn't seem to be right. You probably were thinking of something else. Instant Replay/Shadowplay doesn't have a "match monitor refresh rate" in its settings, just 30/60/120. So I'm thinking that you might be thinking of automatic game optimization
No. Ive got the following Issue: Once Shadowplay/Instant Replay is enabled, it just limits my Ingame fps to whatever my Monitors refreshrate is at. Its caused by the newest nvidia App version which is why i need to revert to an older one and prevent it from updating automatically
I dont want it to be limited
automatic game optimization isnt on, v-sync is forced off, ive ddu'd the drivers multiple times and tested different ones. It started with the Nvidia App update that happened with drivers 572.83
I'm unable to reproduce this over here
Do you use MSI Afterburner? RTSS?
It is installed but the Issue occurs with afterburner and RTSS running in the background and not running in the background
Try it with these video settings and make sure you've installed the most recent nvidia app version
Recording Desktop: On
Length: 2:00
Quality: Custom
Resolution: 1080p
Frequency: 60 Fps
Codec: H.264/HEVC
Bitrate: 4.7
Leave instant replay running in the background and start any game that could run above your monitor refreshrate
It will be capped at your monitor Refreshrate despite not having turned on any kind of FPS Limit or V-Sync (Even with complete different video settings). Once you turn off Instant Replay, it unlocks the FPS
