#Shader cache set to custom

That shouldn't happen.
For a utility to automate DDU as much as possible follow this guide.
If you are encountering issues performing a DDU, please do the following:
- Use the latest DDU Version from Guru3D and ensure you have extracted the exe before booting into safe mode (Until you see the Display Driver Uninstaller.exe in the extracted folder)
- Run the DDU program in Safe Mode
If you have issues booting into safe mode, you can do the following:
- Restart the computer.
- At the sign-in screen, hold the Shift key down and then click Power > Restart.
- After the computer restarts to the Choose an Option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.
- After the computer restarts, a list of options should appear. Select 4 or F4 to start the computer in Safe Mode. If you must use the Internet, select 5 or F5 for Safe Mode with Networking (Please note that only Ethernet works)
If the Startup Settings do not appear, do the following:
- Press the Windows Key + R.
- Type msconfig in the dialog box.
- Select the Boot tab.
- Select the Safe Boot option and click Apply.
- Choose Restart to apply the changes when the System Configuration window pops up.
Note: Once you are done using Safe Mode, go back in and undo the Safe Boot option. To exit safe mode, restart your system or perform the following if it doesn’t work:
- Press the Windows logo key + R.
- Type msconfig in the Run dialog. Select OK.
- Select the General tab.
- Under Startup Selection options, select Normal Startup and press OK.
On systems with multiple GPUs, such as laptops, please only run the DDU on the affected device/which drivers to remove. Note: If you run the DDU to uninstall AMD or Intel drivers, you may reinstall the chipset drivers before reinstalling the graphics card driver if your GPU and CPU are from the same brand (AMD GPU + AMD CPU and Intel CPU + Intel Arc GPU) or if your Intel CPU has an iGPU (Non F CPUs)
Is this necessary there has been no other issue than I guess shader cache saying “Custom”
Or might this issue be caused cause I recently rolled back my driver than reinstalled the new update again
Probably just set it back to Driver Default yourself
I’m just wondering when it was set to “Custom” was the shader cache feature on or off because in game I could tell no difference at all
@thorn wyvern
Hmm, there shouldn't be any problems then
The cache is for future speedups so you don't need to compile the cache again
as long as it's not off or too small it should be fine
@thorn wyvern if my drivers were corrupt I would see major graphic and audio issues right? Like what r the most common symptoms
Like if I could tell no difference in game it’s prolly fine?
if the drivers were broken you'd probably see unexpected crashes too
I’m getting non of these so the control panel thing maybe just a visual bug?
Probably or just something forgotten
Note that the default value is "driver default"
Yea I always had it on driver default
What does forgotten mean in this sense
Previously changed but forgot that it was changed
If you do encounter problems later, that's when I'd strongly consider using DDU to make it like new again
like the program forgot it was changed? i have never changed it tho there isnt even a custom option
