#Scaling bug with DSR

Hello everyone, I've been having a bit of a weird issue recently, so currently I've been trying to enable NVIDIA DSR both for playing games at a higher resolution than native, and also to allow me more screen real estate when programming, however there is an extremely weird bug that as far as I can tell, only I have, I've searched a lot on the internet but I found nobody with my problem.

The issue is basically this: When enabling NVIDIA DSR 1.78x DL and actually changing the resolution in the settings, my first monitor works fine and everything is normal, however on my second monitor, weird scaling-like issues happen, particularly with Firefox, Chromium and VS Code, I haven't observed this problem in other programs, either way, I'll have a video attached to illustrate the issue (note: while the video does capture some of the weirdness, it is actually different than what I can observe, I'll attach another video to demonstrate)

I had forgotten about this thread lol, the issue still persists however

Some monitors with a native resolution lower than 4K may support 4K input resolution anyway. This 4K input resolution is for the benefit of consoles that used to not directly support 1440p output, as well as enabling a basic form of super-sample AA (similar to DSR).

The existence of this fake 4K resolution will mess with DSR/DLDSR's assumptions about the monitor's native resolution and the scaling factors will be based on that higher resolution instead of the true resolution, leading to both image quality and performance issues.

Use the Custom Resolution Utility to remove the fake 4K resolutions. You'll need to find it in both the standard timings table and within any data blocks, including those inside the "TV resolutions" extended data block, which isn't shown immediately, and restart the PC, to make the fake resolution invisible to the PC, and restore the correct DSR scaling factors.

I've downloaded the tool but I can't seem to find this 4K resolution in any of the datablocks

The weirdest thing is that this bug happens to maximized (not fullscreen) applications on the second monitor only

Alright. I need to know what's your monitor model, resolution and Hz

I'm using DP version 1.4 on both monitors, gsync is enabled, G-SYNC Compatible AdaptiveSync is set to "basic"

Just use fullscreen exclusive if you intend to use DSR

#

Not an issue

#

It's the limitations of the DSR

I see, I don't know if you saw the videos I sent but the same thing happens mostly with applications like electron based ones (chromium, discord) and firefox as well, does that matter in any way?

After tinkering a bit more, I've found the weirdest thing.
If I set the resolution to 2560x1440 through NVIDIA's control panel, electron applications behave in the glitched manner showed in the videos, however, if I set the resolution through the "display modes" in the windows display settings, they work fine???
