Hey guys, I got incredibly licky and managed to snag a 5090 Gaming Trio from NBB on Friday and it was delivered yesterday. However, I am experiencing major issues. My PC ran absolutely fine with my 3090 FE.
What are my issues:
Running some Apps/Benchmarks instantly locks up my system with error nvlddmkm 14 or (most often) 153.
I tried absolutely everything so far and it did not change a bit. I updated BIOS and even reinstalled Windows altogether, to no avail.
Some processes crash instantly, e.g. 3DMark speedway immediately crashes when the test starts.(in 1% of the tests it starts rendering for 1sec and the crashes)
Fortnite (Max settings incl. RT 1440p) regularly crashes whilst still in the lobby or right at match start.
CS2 seemed to run fine, but randomly locked up after 10min of playing.
I tried it with both 572.16 and the hotfix 572.24 on my fresh install of windows.
The Cyberpunk Benchmark(Max settings 1440p with RT/PT) seemed to run fine a few times with both DLAA+FG on or off. Performance also seemed in line with what you would expect from a 5090.
I ran Memtest Vulkan for a while, with passing results.
The 5090 is „directly“ connected to my MBs (Asus Dark Hero x570) top PCIe slot (only pcie 4.0 and also manually forced to 4.0).
Has anyone here experienced similar issues with a brand new 5090 (or maybe 5080 too)?
Update: I put the card in my brothers‘ PC (12900K, 4090, PCIe 5.0)
Some Benchmarks like Speedway and TimeSpy Extreme crash instantly, but I was unable to produce a crash i a single game. Fortnite (Max Settings 4K) runs just about fine and with average 5090 performance (about 25-30% increase over his 4090, the card seems to be slightly cpu bottlenecked)
CS2 I played for half an hour as well and was unable to produce a crash as well.
I tried the card in my PC again and was immediately back to crashing.
So can this really be a driver issue?
Anyone experienced the same?
Thanks Guys
