NVIDIA Instant Replay/ShadowPlay/Highlights:
ALT-Z to bring up the main overlay, click Instant Replay, click configure video capture.
OBS:
Open the app and configure from there. If you had set it up for streaming, keep in mind that you'll be limited by what your chosen streaming service supports.
i dont want to use OBS, i want to record videos with nvidia app. I just dont know how to add camera to that recorder
Recording a webcam feed is not supported in the NVIDIA App.
If you need that feature, learn OBS, or downgrade to the old GFE.
You can download NVIDIA App here and the latest drivers here. Some features in the NVIDIA App require you to be in a newer driver.
GeForce Experience is no longer receiving feature updates or bug fixes, so if you encounter any issues opening GFE, try replacing it with the NVIDIA App.
If you need to go back to GFE either because of an issue with the App or you prefer the old UI, the last version of GFE can be downloaded here.
To downgrade, uninstall NVIDIA App, then install the last version of GFE from the third link above.
i still cant click the camera button for some reason
maybe its because i broke it
but it should be atleast able to turn on right?
Does the camera work in Windows' own camera app?
its okay i think, the camera is so old it just stopped working
im gonna order a new one
okay i bought the new camera and its not working
the camera is fine, i tested it
but when i try to record with it
it says its turned on but isnt seen on screen
even in recording
@pine tapir
Shadowplay has many unresolved issues, thus it is not supported here.
If you are looking for a reliable alternative, please install OBS Studio and read the following guides to configure it:
bro really?
@pine tapir i said i dont want nvidia app because its useless because it has no camera, so you said "downgrade geforce experience" so i did that and now your giving me OBS which i told has frame delay?
Because Shadowplay isn't recognizing your camera.
what do you mean by that, i dont understand what shadowplay is and what i have to do
Shadowplay's the part of of the Nvidia app responsible for recording features
which i told has frame delay?
What does that mean? Is your camera feed delayed? If so, (1) that's not gonna be an issue caused by OBS and (2) OBS has options to correct this
nvidia app: no delay while recording but can't add camera.
OBS:delay while recording but can add camera
could you help me to fix the delay if Its possible?
Again, what does "delay" mean here? Are your video and audio streams offset?
like while recording, it is delayed making the effect of lag, for example i press a key, and it happens after few frames
Alright, I see. Are you using the OBS settings from the guides above? Those should make it use the same recording technology Shadowplay uses (meaning no noticeable performance changes)
which one, can you guide me step by step?
Shadowplay has many unresolved issues, thus it is not supported here.
If you are looking for a reliable alternative, please install OBS Studio and read the following guides to configure it:
Guide links there
First one is the important one, 2nd one is optional if you don't need Instant Replay
should i use nvidia app?
because i have downgraded
geforce experience
(camera doesnt work in there)
or i only need OBS for that or is it somehow connected to nvidia app
@rigid isle
Those guides are exclusively for OBS. Whether you have GFE or the Nvidia app doesn't matter
okay okay
does this mean like streaming
because i dont want to stream
i just want to record videos
im really confused rn
OBS can be set up for recording only
You'll get asked for it
(The buttons still exist, but just ignore them)
The guide changes settings for both recording and streaming. You just... won't use the streaming settings if you don't stream
so recomended settings, video tab settings, output tab settings and other settings
bit rate is dangerously low for even 1080p content
also set up a bit oddly
make sure to do a content test with an action game to confirm (don't do it in slow/turn based games)
what do you recomend?
Do a test with current settings before continuing
yeah the quality is bad
if its alredy so laggy and delayed, wouldnt it be even worse?
im trying 100k bitrate
yeah its extremly unplayable
it says 90 but its like 60-
- Make sure to launch OBS as an admin before doing anything.
- Do not let the GPU max out: always use a frame limit that can keep it under 90%. Suggested: 30, 60, multiples of 60.
- Hardware GPU scheduling needs to be turned ON
- Windows Game Mode needs to be turned ON
- OBS uses extra video memory. Make sure to spare 1GB for it. If your game settings normally put it at the limit, drop texture settings by one notch.
i have everything from there

This appears to not have been done
its around 50 60
maybe its better
i didnt run it as administrator
maybe thats the issue
...yeah
Read this again and please actually do all listed items
@distant temple
It looks like you've managed to skip at least two entries
nvm its the same lag
What's your CPU?
i just relised something
the old camera works on downgraded geforce experience
but the new one doesnt?
it works but like its frozen
the new one is this one
@pine tapir
how is that possible?
laptop
Is the built-in webcam broken? See if that works
That camera works normally, idk about GeForce experience tho, i will check when i get on PC
(i have it disabled so the output is extrrnal camera)
Don't use Device Manager to disable devices. Re-enable it, and simply make whatever thing that needs a camera to point to the correct one
