#Drivers wont install. I have 40tb and yet it refuses to install and update. Package is what

Please answer the question, due to the following that may break some assumptions
Some Intel 13th/14th gen desktop CPUs (unlocked CPUs, as well as locked i7/i9), may have stability issues due to excessive voltages. This may show up as errors, crashes, and BSODs. In some occasions, this error may blame a different part (e.g. out of video memory) despite it being caused by a defective CPU.
Please go to this Intel Community thread for further information.
If your CPU is currently exhibiting instability issues even after performing BIOS and microcode updates, please contact Intel or your system builder for a warranty exchange (RMA).
whats that supposed to do
We don't know what CPU your computer has
If it was 13th/14th gen CPU that is either unlocked, or is a locked i7/i9, your CPU may be at fault
14900KS
Contact Intel for RMA
NVIDIA installer failures, shader comp failures, UE games crashing... textbook CPU failure
RMA?
In the meantime, if you need to keep using the computer while you wait for RMA authorization, do all of the following in order
Warranty replacement
Note: they may be out of stock. If they do, they'll let you know of options. A refund should also be possible.
So you're saying my cpu is fck'd ?
Yes
Also it's OK to swear in this server
that explains it
I will order myself a new one whilst i figure out what to do with this one
Drop P-cores, E-cores, and ring by 300MHz each
Update BIOS to latest
Still do the RMA as it's already exhibiting instability, the above two are just for you to buy time. Updates cannot fix broken CPUs
the bios is updated to the latest
dead but still working?
Yeah, error prone now
You can buy extra time by dropping clocks. This CPU is defective, so you can use your warranty.
time to spend yet another $800
I have another pc rocking a meh 12600k and another 4090
Come to think about it how long have you owned this 14900KS?
2-3 months 🥲
Did you update the BIOS when you obtained the new CPU? I see the rig appears to have seen CPU upgrades since 2022 (as 14900KS didn't exist)
the motherboard was updated to the latest bios before installing the 14ks
And then it never saw any updates since then?
Then there could be a period of time where the KS did indeed see hazardous voltages
I bought the 14ks on the 28 September this year
Also could i not just issue a refund from the place in which i brought it from rather to bother with intel in such
As the CPU has already been used for about 2.5 months or so, check the refund policies
Intel's own is unconditional for these CPUs, so if you want to, try the retailer first. If that fails, check with Intel.
yeah i missed it by like 20 days or so
