Provide full specs
Also, a screenshot of the contents of Task Manager > Performance > Memory
Processor : 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-11300H
Graphic card : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop
RAM : 8 Mo
ik that i have a low pc but getting frames drop every 5 second is wild
Is this with a game or not?
Also, download CPU-Z (The C is the one in "ABC") and show the contents of both Memory and SPD
sorry for not responding i was not at home for the week @silk sluice
yes
this is for the memory :
and this is for the SPD
(in game ofc)
This is cursed
Single channel, non-upgradable, non-standard (SODIMM might be a lie)
For now just run 3DMark and see if score correctly
Use the following benchmarks and monitoring tools to determine if your PC is performing as it should.
Benchmarks
3DMark
Black Myth: Wukong Benchmark Tool
Cinebench 2024
Cinebench R23 (TechSpot download)
CrystalDiskMark
Stability
OCCT
Monitoring
CrystalDiskInfo
HWINFO
i think its this isnt it ?
This image indicates that your computer is working correctly at least for short bursts. 3DMark didn't hitch or stall during the benchmark either?
i wasnt looking it up when i ran it
the thing is
i get consistent with my fps
but out of no where
i get fps drops
Considering that this system has just 8GB of non-upgradable RAM, methinks you might be running out of RAM in one way or another
For now, just restart your PC, then after the computer finishes starting, show the contents of Task Manager > Performance > Memory again
This image is definitely not very inspiring ngl
alr
yeah the memory often lock at 75 percent and 400mo per app
cannot go more than that
After you upload a screenshot of that, also go to Task Manager > Processes, sort it so that the apps with the highest RAM usage at the top, and post its screenshot here

HWINFO
Get HWINFO from here. Run it in sensors-only mode. Once it shows a table of stuff, leave this window open, and play a game that will eventually start to drop frames.
As soon as it starts doing that, ALT-TAB into HWINFO, and screenshot everything in there. You'll need to take multiple screenshots and scroll the table.
first things first
@silk sluice for HWINFO should i get the installer or the portable ?
cuz i have a laptop
the normal one right
the normal one. "portable" here means "no installer"
aight
and uh
like i said i have small drops every 3 sec, i screen the one where i get big drops like under 60
freeze and etc
done
if u want i can record you my screen to see what i mean by having drops every 3 sec
Realistically, don't
You barely have enough memory as is - there's only 2GB free as of these screenshots
but I have a feeling I know why now
tell me
This looks like an Asus laptop, right?
it is
What model?
tuf
Hmm. It looks like this laptop might be upgradable at all.
Compartment 3 is where your RAM should be at
so ?
Yes, but since your computer appears to have exactly 1 slot for RAM, and no soldered RAM, you will never have anything other than single channel memory
just make this 16GB or 32GB RAM stick count where possible
To verify that your laptop is indeed upgradeable as listed, open that panel but don't remove any other components, and confirm that there is indeed a RAM stick in there
Once you've confirmed, buy a single 16GB or 32GB of DDR4-3200 SODIMM. No XMP RAM - laptops don't do XMP at all
and u think my problem gonna be fixed
examples of RAM you will need:
https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/CT16G4SFRA32A
At this point, I cannot 100% verify since you haven't done the last step yet
With HWINFO open, play the same game until you start to stutter or stall, then switch to HWINFO and screenshot again
but installing the ram by myself is kinda hard isnt it ?
If you're not sure/worried that you'll cause hardware damage, bring the laptop to a computer shop and see what they can do for you
and i am gonna check this later
yeah
A bit of labour fees (if applicable) is worth the peace of mind
i think the fees are like 20 dollars
but i really think the problem is my ram
cuz i get less drops when i dont have discord opened
ik that my pc is at low budget but it can run geometry dash smoothly
the only things are fps
drops
just a question rq
the only component that can cause fps drops is the ram isnt it ?
On your system, most of the rest of the PC is good enough for most games that aren't current-gen AAA games
And you have very little free memory even on the desktop alone
So it does look like it's the RAM, given that you also don't have temp issues
Since RAM is fairly cheap regardless, if that ends up fixing your performance drops, that would be an easy fix
nice
