I usually play on 240FPS stable on Fortnite without an issue, when i turned on my pc today and loaded Fortnite, i noticed that my frames were going from 240 to 97 to 230 to 117 to 240. Im not sure why this is happening but i need it fixed.

What version of Direct X are you using for Fortnite? Have you updated your drivers (CPU, GPU, etc)? Do you have any antivirus software installed? Did you check task manager for any background processes bogging up memory? I would check all these things out and make sure nothing is bogging down the CPU or GPU.

im using performance mode on fortnite. i think thats DX11 but toned down. i updated all my drivers for CPU and GPU. I have no antivirus installed. i checked my task manager.

According to someone who had experienced the same issue as you, it seems like the response is: “Performance Mode is not suitable for your GPU and is likely slower than DX12 Low.”
I would experiment with setting it on low graphics quality and if it goes up, then you can keep it there or increase it however you see best

Make sure not to use DX12 and keep it on 11 and set it to low or higher

Cause it seems to me the GPU isn’t getting used much so it needs a bit of strain to it to get it working again

Could be weak CPU , CPU overheating . Try maybe putting more stress on the GPU .

- Make sure Pre-download Streamed Assets is checked to minimize loading stalls (which will appear as harsh FPS drops)
- This game should be installed on an SSD
