#Issues using Vulkan with GPU

Hello! I hope I'm in the right place. I am running a Dell Optiplex 9020 it-4790 with an upgraded PSU and a GTX 1080FE GPU. Everything has been working great up until recently, when I realized using Vulkan with GPU crashes games. Im on ver 556.12 NVIDIA driver. When I choose OPENGL games will work, but I'd like to use Vulkan with my GPU. Can anyone help me troubleshoot, and/or give me some solutions? Thanks in advance...

Run this benchmark; when prompted, you will need to run the Steel Nomad benchmark twice, once with DX12 and another with Vulkan. Let me know the results and/or if it crashes

The demo is enough.

Ok...thank you! Im on it...

Ok, ran it with DX12. Was around 16-17fps. Running with Vulkan now...

#

Results are in!

#

That was with NVIDIA set to Performance...not Quality

After doing a little research, it seems 4th gen intel (i7-4790) doesnt have Vulkan support. Im guessing this is my issue?

CPU iGPU not having vulkan support is irrelevant if you're using a dGPU

Hmmm...so any ideas as to whats going on here?

Since the game works perfectly well with the OpenGL API... might as well use it

#

Usually when a game offers two APIs, one of them is inevitably going to be inferior to the other

#

If you see any other Vulkan-based game crashing, then you may have a problem

Gotcha. Yeah, I'll just have to keep using OpenGL for certain games. Thanks for your time and assistance!
