That's fine. Some drivers don't like that (and that's why I was asking what exactly happened). You didn't get an error message, so I'd assume the install did indeed work

Do you have an Android phone and a cable for it (to connect it to the laptop)? If you do, you can use USB tethering to connect the laptop, and it'll then download the correct drivers automatically

Possible that it was a USB WiFi adapter (which Windows had built-in drivers for)
Could find out if you can find a sticker or something on it
