You meant 8-pin PCIe made from 6+2, but yes
I am assuming it didn't come with the native cable. The adapter is perfectly fine to use.
Just treat the adapter as like your regular card that wants a 2x8pin
This PSU should have come with at least two individual cables, with 2 plugs each. Use two cables, using the first plug (counting from the PSU side) on each one.
If possible; technically speaking, for modern Corsair PSUs, the pigtails are fine
Just use whichever arrangement that makes more sense
I think I’m getting this confused… so these cables in my 3060 atm I can or can’t use?
Are these the ones that come with your PSU?
You can use them. The 4070 Ti will come with an adapter for you to connect with these.
yes
i saw it came with the adapter just didnt know if theyd work and be safe ya know
You don't have a 4090, and the Supers come with a revised connector. You're gucci
perfect thank you thank you
Warning
Do not pigtail ur cables
Use separate 8 pin cables
Corsair RMx series (newer triangular grille models)
This is one of the exceptions to the general wisdom, actually
Still best to use separate cables, but it's still perfectly fine
The pigtail option is likely to be used only when there are other constraints (e.g. missing cables, clearance)
nvidia specificlly states not too
Because normally they account for the lowest common denominator, which is often
The PSU requirements are also usually taken with an i9 as a reference
basically worst case
wdym
The worst possible but still reasonable cases
So e.g. i9 with loose or no power limits, 80+ bronze PSU that works correctly but is otherwise meh quality, etc
A bit of an exaggeration but you get the idea
im saying if your using 40 series dont pigtail gpu cables not psu end but gpu end the dongle
Taken from the Cultists' Network Discord server, PSU discussion.
I'd think assuming it's both modern and not Seasonic nor made by Seasonic, you're fine
not with the power cunsumption per cable
LOL
Bzzt.
Of course, using separate cables give you the most margin, but using pigtails inherently is a safe thing... assuming your PSU isn't crap
With a single cable, assuming lowball but not SeaSonic as maker, you will get up to 375W (including slot)
Because it has already been established as fine
I don’t think the manufacturer would lie
Not by manufacturer give up
I’ll send photo when I’m home
I have a 4070ti I would know
Don’t mean non
AKA Corsair's R&D Head
@unreal orbit
This is basically the manufacturer of the video card doing this for safety
However, the PSU manufacturer's recommendation is not rendered invalid
They have to account for the junk stuff
Ye it is
Invite me to the server with head corsair ppl
Rotate the screen
I have to pull it off
