can you not still choose 1440x900? Its not forcing you to use 1024x748

then whats the problem

weary narwhal

why it says 1024x748 is the native resolution

are your gpu drivers up to datye

yeah

it could be caused by your display cable but I doubt it. Maybe try a Dport cable and see if the issue persists

#

do you have multiple monitors

This happens sometimes when Windows fails to list the available resolutions for the display model you have.

It can sometimes be fixed by updating your display/graphics drivers

If you search the make and model of the monitor you have into google, you might be able to get the correct resolution.

Otherwise, choose 1440x900 and see if the display appears clearer. If it doesn't display correctly or the screen flickers a lot or goes black for a long time, then it doesn't support that resolution

Also this may also be determined by the type of display cable you are using, VGA (usually the connector is blue or black) doesn't usually display higher resolution that well, you may (If available on your computer and monitor) want to get yourself a dvi cable, or hdmi cable. They will display clearer images

Personally I still fail to see why its an issue if windows is detecting the wrong native res, as long as you can still use the correct res anyway

#

But i suspect a driver issue

#

run that if all else fails
