@runic pollen ill post it here
K
these are the best i could get my hands on rn, however i have higher res pics of the inside of my pc takes yesterday incase u need it
@runic pollen if you need pics of anything else, let me know i could check and see if i have any
I can’t really see the intake
yeah, i’ll have to take some pics when i get home. i’ll ping you here when im home
Also try removing any front panel in front of the intake fans + try removing the glass.
front radiator
case air's going to be full of warmed up air
check if this case allows you to mount the radiator up top
if yes, time to do some work and change it so that it looks like this:
front: 2x or 3x intake
top: radiator as exhaust
rear: no fan or 1x exhaust
otherwise
the no cost option:
- reverse the cpu radiator fans so it's exhaust, and the other fans to intake (if possible, and you have them, move any of the fans from the top or rear to bottom as intake
the cost option:
- buy a new case that has guaranteed top rad support
hey can i call anybody
bc i just got home and turned on my pc to let it idle for 10 mins
nothing in the background at all, but its idling at 90
sounds like mounting or pump fail
definitely not a case airflow issue if the temps never go down
so how would i go about fixing this?
If it is the pump, you’d need to get a new AIO / file a warranty claim
@shrewd summit with your front glass removed, do you feel heat coming from the radiator of the aio?
ive removed the fron panel
i put my hand infront of the intake frans and its definitely collecting cold air
did u want me to put my hand on the other saide? like inside the pc?
alright, ive jst dont that and it feels cold as well
thats where i put my hand
Is the AIO all connected to power / plugged in?
There should also be a 3 pin connector for the pump
isn’t that the one that’s plugged in on the picture?
You should have 2 connectors for fan / pump speed
Where does that connector connect to on the other end?
that’s the one you want me to follow right?
ooh on the motherboard
where it says pump_fan1?
You should have one that specifically comes from the radiator
the other side of that is the cable in this picture
yeah the cable that’s connected to the pump_fan1 pins is the cable in the picture here
Okay Perfect. Next question. Fans are spinning when you didn’t feel heat, right?
yes i felt the suck in cold air
If that’s the case, try booting in to your bios.
alright one sec
We want to set pump_fan to 100% / on if possible
Click in to hardware monitor
Click in to pump 1
and i know the cpu is only at 50 right now but its only when windows is fully booted up and everything
Hit all full speed for that, save, and exit out of it
done that windows is gonna boot now
@shrewd summit this sounds dumb, but unscrew your fans enough that you can feel the block / pump. Then try booting, you want to see if you can feel any sort of vibration or anything from the pump motor
i can definitely hear the pump
Okay good
Monitor temps, but use the radiator to test if any heat is coming from it
idk of u can hear it but that’s near the pump
now that i can hear that pump, is this still necessary
alright so what now
This
Maybe it wasn’t previously spinning the pump fast enough/ at all
If temps are more normal
i’ve put my hand on this side of the radiator again, still cold
im not sure if something has changed actually
So it’s the same?
It’s a bit high but at least it’s not 90?
roamed around 50
roams*
except my pc is obviously very load due to the setting we changed in the bios
no what?
still weird that it’s a bit high tho because i keep my room very cool
Yeah, if there’s no heat coming out, it’s either your paste job, or the pump is running dry
how would i go about fixing that second one if that’s the case
this is it with absolutely nothing at all opened
no background stuff at all either
That would be an RMA with MSI
1% cup usage
Or a new pump
an RMA?
Hwinfo will list how many watts you’re pulling
Basically a warranty claim
alright so what’s my next step for now then?
Run the pumps high and hope
so i’m gonna need to keep that setting turned on, the one we enabled in the bios
it’s empty bc this is the paste i got with the of when it was delivered back in 2021
there was only a tiny bit on it for like 1.5 past jobs
Last thing you can try is replacing that with layer of kryonaut or something, making sure to clean the cpu and the cooler with isopropyl alcohol fully
Also double checking that there isn’t any plastic hidden
this question might sound dumb but english isn’t my first language, what would a warrently claim entail?
Reaching out to the vendor, explaining the issue, and usually they want you to send it back and they repair it
ah okay, this was a prebuilt pc tho is that a problem?
i didn’t order a specific part myself
except for stuff that i’ve added down the line
Did they install the aio or did you?
it’s an entire gaming pc i ordered back in 2021, a full prebuilt
ordered from alternate
so they installed everything
except for stuff i’ve added later on like ram sticks and an hdd
Okay, only they can provide warranty services / etc on devices
If they still have that available
so i have to contact alternate? not msi?
alright
But MSI might ask for proof of purchase
yeah thought so
will do, that’s so much for ur help and time btw i rlly appreciate it
you’ve gotten me a lot further than where i first got stuck
hey i had a question about this, if my cpu has been downlocking itself, will it automatically go back to how it was or do i have to do anything
@runic pollen @wispy vine
Hey guys just an update, my package arrived and everything is fixed.
ordered the nzxt kraken 280 rgb and to my surprise it is pretty difficult to get it to go over 50 degrees. so yeah the issue seemed to have been the aio pump.
thanks again so much for ur help, i really appreciate it!
